Why Should You Get A LCD TV?

What are the advantages of having an LCD TV? Why would you choose this instead of a regular standard definition TV?

One thing that's nice about LCD TVs is that they tend to be slim and compact. For this reason, it's easy to place them in a room without them taking up the whole space! Most LCD TVs come with the ability to add a mounting kit and mount them to the wall. This is not only a space saver, but it also just looks very modern and cool!

When you mount an LCD TV to the wall, you also are able to keep that particular wall free of furniture such as an entertainment center. If you need to have a DVD player and cable box nearby, you can simply mount a small shelf beside or below the TV, rather than having an entire piece of furniture take up all that space!

Another advantage to LCD TVs' smaller size is that they are a bit easier to transport, not only when you're moving but also when you're changing what room you are keeping the LCD TV in. Regular TV's have that big picture tube which makes them much heavier and more bulky.

Last but not least, a major advantage of LCD TV's is that they have a better quality picture than standard TV's. Bear in mind that not all LCD TVs are HDTV's. Ask the merchant where you are purchasing your LCD TV whether that particular model is an HDTV quality television. It may have the same connections as an HDTV but it may not be able to display HD sources in true, perfect HD quality. This will depend on the resolution (dpi) of the particular LCD TV that you purchase.

Clearly, LCD TVs are a great choice. They tend to last a long time, too, and many of them can display your computer's picture in clear quality (and therefore, they can double as a computer monitor)!

What Is All The Fuss About HDTV Over?

The average person doesn't know that much about HDTV (high definition television). Many of us would wonder about such questions as:

Is HDTV much better than standard definition television?

Is it necessary to get an HDTV to watch DVDs or Bluray Discs?

Now that television stations are broadcasting in digital, does this relate to HDTV and do I need an HDTV to watch TV now?

First of all, yes HDTV is much better than standard definition. Even the average person would notice the difference if they were watching an HDTV and a standard def TV, side-by-side. With that said, would it impact the viewing experience for everyone? Possibly not, but it will affect the way in which many people enjoy shows and especially movies.

At the end of the day, HDTV is a luxury for now, but one day you will be unable to buy a new television that is NOT an HDTV. Until then, it is up to you whether you think it is worth the extra expense. If you are already in the market for a new television, you should consider HD. It's always better to be ahead of the curve rather than behind. It becomes a budget choice at this point.

But no, it is not necessary to have an HDTV in order to watch DVD movies or digital television. You may need an inexpensive converter box (contact your local television stations or the FCC for more information) in order to watch digital broadcasts. However, if you have cable, this is not necessary.

Having HDTV is a luxury, and it is only necessary if you are a videophile and will notice the difference.

Superheroes Coming To A Theatre Near You

The movie industry continues to churn out comic books into movies with even more comic book heroes and villains being adapted to the full screen. Not only is it very popular but it's become profitable for Hollywood. Unlike the past when super hero movies were relegated to direct to video productions, today, the comic book industry along with super star producers are developing big budget films.

The main reason for all the super hero movies are due to the large profit margin at the box office. While it does cost quite a bit of money to produce comic book characters for the large screen, the movie industry benefits in a big way but so does the comic book industry. These blockbuster comic book movies usually cast well known actors and have results have been impressive.

The radio, television and movie industries have had a love affair with comic book heroes since Superman and Spiderman were created. Before television and movies there was the radio and it allowed comic books to leap out of their pages and into the living room. Radio gave way to television which created an even more special bond between super heroes and their fans. What the television series lacked in special effects, cartoons picked up the slack.

Soon radio and television were phased out for movies. Over time, technology enhanced special effects which gave super heroes their super abilities. Super heroes could now fly, jump higher, run faster and have the capability to destroy everything in their path.

By the mid seventies the first big comic book super hero blockbuster arrived. When Clark Kent took off his suit and became Superman, the excitement to see the Superman movie was contagious. The movie industry was blown away at the amount of money made at the box office. The comic book industry also took notice and began development and negotiations with major Hollywood studios, d executives, and producers for other super hero projects.

After Superman came a few sequels each drawing more and more people to the box office. The eighties brought us Batman which was a creative masterpiece. The success of the original Batman movie led to more Batman sequels and a prequel as well. Soon major movie studios developed even more comic book super hero movies with The Hulk, The Fantastic Four, X-Men, Punisher, Iron Man and Daredevil all hitting the big screen.

There is no end in sight to how many comic book super heroes Hollywood will develop into big budget movies. There are endless number of stories that can be derived from past comic book stories. Moreover, there's an and endless number of super heroes each with different powers and each with the ability to connect to a different person.
