Think of the amount of times you really wanted to see a movie but didn't have time to get round to it or you didn't have the money. This is no longer a problem. Movie fanatics can now watch movies free online, straight from their PC. This is great because it saves going to the cinema! Especially in the cold winter months when you don't want to leave your warm house at the best of times!

One of the great things that a viewer can experience when they decide to watch free movies online is that they are free and affordable as opposed to going to the cinema and forking out a bomb on cinema tickets. Free Movies websites offer these free movies totally free simply because they are so popular and simply visitors coming to their site is cost enough for a movie as the sites running costs is covered by advertising. These free movie sites won't ask for any payment except their users' patronage and support, which isn't much really considering they are saving you a lot of time and money .

On the other hand, the problem with online streaming facilitated by people who don't really get paid to assure quality service is that these movies you may be watching may not be as reliable in terms of quality or connectivity. But if you can put up with these small hitches, it's always good to watch free movies online so you can catch up on those popular movies we all love.

Although movies are great fun to watch, they have become a very costly treat for to many people for so many reasons including time and money! People don't really have time to spare for going to the cinema to watch all those movies that everybody else will be talking about the very next day. Also, the rise of the quality of cinemas today have made it very expensive for the typical moviegoer to watch new movie premiers as often as before. The real shame of the matter is that even now movies have got so much better the more of the people are missing out on them.

But, thanks to the World Wide Web movie lovers can now watch free movies over the internet. They can either watch the movies they missed online through internet streaming or download them from the internet and save them on their hard drive until they get the chance to watch these free movies. This is a lot cheaper in so many ways. Movies over the internet are now free, so you don't have to waste money queuing up at the cinema and waste time looking for a seat, not to mention the payment for those snacks you would want to eat which you could just have taken out of your fridge! Moreover, people no longer have to adjust to viewing schedules because they can watch free movies online. The best bit is that they can watch them over and over and over again! Absolutely free!

Where to download movies online?

The making and showing of motion pictures became a source of profit almost as soon as the process was invented. Upon seeing how successful their new invention, and its product, was in their native France, the Lumires quickly set about touring the Continent to exhibit the first films privately to royalty and publicly to the masses. In each country, they would normally add new, local scenes to their catalogue and, quickly enough, found local entrepreneurs in the various countries of Europe to buy their equipment and photograph, export, import and screen additional product commercially. The Oberammergau Passion Play of 1898 was the first commercial motion picture ever produced. Other pictures soon followed, and motion pictures became a separate industry that overshadowed the vaudeville world. Dedicated theaters and companies formed specifically to produce and distribute films, while motion picture actors became major celebrities and commanded huge fees for their performances. Already by 1917, Charlie Chaplin had a contract that called for an annual salary of one million dollars.

In the United States today, much of the film industry is centered around Hollywood. Other regional centers exist in many parts of the world, such as Mumbai-centered Bollywood, the Indian film industry's Hindi cinema which produces the largest number of films in the world. Whether the ten thousand-plus feature length films a year produced by the Valley pornographic film industry should qualify for this title is the source of some debate. Though the expense involved in making movies has led cinema production to concentrate under the auspices of movie studios, recent advances in affordable film making equipment have allowed independent film productions to flourish.

Profit is a key force in the industry, due to the costly and risky nature of filmmaking; many films have large cost overruns, a notorious example being Kevin Costner's Waterworld. Yet many filmmakers strive to create works of lasting social significance. The Academy Awards (also known as "the Oscars") are the most prominent film awards in the United States, providing recognition each year to films, ostensibly based on their artistic merits.

There is also a large industry for educational and instructional films made in lieu of or in addition to lectures and texts.

Reese Witherspoon: Magazine Sweetheart

Witherspoon, a native of Nashville, TN first garnered critical success with her 1991 feature debut in the film "The Man in the Moon" and the television movie "Wildflower." Throughout the 1990s Witherspoon established herself as an actress with roles in the modestly successful films Overnight Delivery, Pleasantville and Twilight. In 1999 Witherspoon was nominated for her role in the critically-acclaimed film Election.

Also during 1999 Witherspoon married her "Cruel Intentions" co-star, fellow American actor Ryan Phillippe. Shortly after their nuptials the pair welcomed a daughter Ava.

It wasn't until 2001 that Witherspoon landed the role of Elle Woods in the smash hit "Legally Blonde", which catapulted the actress into superstardom. The film is her biggest commercial success to date. In 2005 Witherspoon again received rave reviews from fans and critics alike for her performance in the Johnny Cash bio-pic "Walk the Line," in which Witherspoon earned an Academy Award for Best Actress along with a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award among other awards.

Following the successful of "Legally Blonde" Teen People magazine ranked the actress No. 5 on the magazine's list of most powerful young Hollywood actors. The next year Time magazine listed Witherspoon among the magazine's annual Time 100 most influential people list. Witherspoon later appeared on the annual Celebrity 100 list compiled by Forbes magazine in 2006 and 2007. Forbes magazine also listed Witherspoon on their annual "Top 10 Trustworthy Celebrities" list.

Witherspoon and Phillippe welcomed a son child, son Deacon in 2003. Witherspoon and Phillippe made celebrity magazine headlines in 2005 in many celebrity magazines like Us Weekly, People, Life & Style and Star magazine for openly discussing their relationship counseling in 2005.

In 2006, the celebrity magazine Star fabricated a story that Witherspoon was pregnant with her third child, which led to Witherspoon suing the magazine's parent company, American Media Inc for privacy violation.

People magazine has also repeatedly featured Witherspoon in its annual "100 Most Beautiful People" issues as well as People magazine's annual "Best Dressed" issue. That same year, Witherspoon established herself as the highest-paid actress in the American film industry, earning $15 to $20 million per film, according the entertainment magazine The Hollywood Reporter.

In October 2006, Witherspoon and Phillippe announced their plans to formally separate after seven years of marriage. The following month, Witherspoon filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. In September 2007, Witherspoon spoke openly about the separation for the first time when she told Elle magazine that the divorce was "a difficult and frightening experience" for her. Witherspoon and Phillippe's final divorce documents were granted by the Los Angeles Superior Court on October 2007.

Throughout 2007, there was persistent speculation in the celebrity media about a romantic relationship between Witherspoon and her "Rendition" co-star Jake Gyllenhaal. The pair denied the rumors while promoting "Rendition." Witherspoon personally confirmed her relationship with Gyllenhaal in an interview for the November 2008 issue of Vogue magazine, calling her boyfriend "very supportive."

In addition to her acting, Witherspoon owns a production company named Type A Films. She is also actively involved in children's and women's advocacy organizations. She serves on the board of the Children's Defense Fund and was named Global Ambassador of Avon Products in 2007, serving as honorary chairman of the charitable Avon Foundation.

Witherspoon is currently starring in the holiday comedy "Four Christmases" with Vince Vaughn, which topped the American box office totals for the competitive Thanksgiving weekend. Entertainment Weekly magazine gave the comedy a fair review.

Who Is The Best James Bond?

I'm a big fan of the latest James Bond movies. I love the action, the scenery, the car chases and the gadgets. The fact that whoever plays James Bond is easy on the eyes doesn't hurt either! And it's the kind of movie you can see with your partner, male or female, since there's enough eye candy to satisfy both.

Having said that, I have to admit that I've never seen 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service with George Lazenby playing Bond. And I never will. I mean seriously, how good could he have been in the role if he only played it once?

Moreover, although I like today's Bond movies, I'm not a big fan of the Bond movies starring Roger Moore in the title role. I always found Roger Moore, who played Bond in seven films from 1973 to 1985, just a bit too pretty for the role. Never a hair out of place, his tongue firmly planted in his cheek, I found he was too suave and his portrayal never convinced me that Bond was the gritty and determined spy that Ian Fleming intended him to be. I call him the one dimensional Bond; a playboy who seemed to dabble in spy world between bedding anything with big enough boobs.

Sean Connery preceded Moore, playing Bond in five films from 1962 to 1967 and again in 1971, both before and after George Lazenby's turn at the wheel. I'll still watch these movies from time to time because, well, it's Sean Connery! He's a terrific Bond package with the looks and the accent to match. The movies themselves aren't great. After all, they're thirty to forty years old, so let's just say that they're a product of their time.

Timothy Dalton's interpretation of Bond was a welcome change from Connery's and especially Moore's. Gone was the playboy spy wannabe and in its place a character who displayed darker qualities and a sometimes reluctance to do the job he was hired to do. Playing Bond in only two films from 1987 to 1989, I loved both of them!

Pierce Brosnan, whose commitment to a television show prevented him from playing Bond earlier, is seen in four Bond movies from 1995 to 2002.

Playing Bond with a nice mix of charm and determination, I was sorry to see him relinquish the role, but can understand his reluctance to continue making more Bond films after he turned fifty. Roger Moore was also said to be somewhat embarrassed to be playing a role that had him making love to women young enough to be his daughter.

And then there is Daniel Craig. In a word, WOW! Definitely the darkest Bond of them all, Craig overcame worldwide skepticism in his abilities with the release of 2006's Casino Royale.

His performance was hailed as "brutal and cold". There's no doubt that this Bond means business; he has a job to do, and he does it very, very well.

Who is the best James Bond? Daniel Craig, no contest!

Pride and Glory Film, Is This Another Dull Cop Movie?

Well, this fiery, gritty New York cop movie boasts more than street smarts. It contains a volatile blend of street sensitivity and testosterone . In his first film since his Olympic hockey movie Miracles, the director, Gavin O'Connor, has made a tale about the NYPD that captures the loneliness of police work when it is done as a family business. The O'Conner brothers, whose father was a police officer, were given access to the police department and its officers. Gavin O'Connor described their intent: "My father was a New York City detective, and I grew up in that world. It's a celebration of honest cops, which was everything my father was about. Though it is fictional, it is an homage to my father."

The O'Connor brothers co-wrote the movie script with Joe Carnahan and New York Police Officer Robert A. Hopes. This adds something to the authenticity of the movie, however there are times during the film that seem way out of the ordinary. One scene that comes to mind involves a police officer holding an iron close to a baby's face.

Hollywood star Edward Norton stars as Ray Tierney, a New York cop drawn into a task force investigating a Washington Heights shoot-out that took down four fellow officers. Noah Emmerich stars alongside him as his brother, Jon Voight as their father, and Colin Farrell stars as their brother-in-law. A family of cops that have their loyalties tested.

As Norton's good cop cries "Enough!" to the kind of blind loyalty that hides corruption, Pride and Glory should catch the public mood and draw the audience. Pride and Glory explores the boundaries of melodrama. It's a drama, except that it's acted out by men who brutally express themselves with fists, clubs and guns.

A social-political subtext often supplies Edward Norton with the juice he needs to get him going as an actor. Here he and O'Connor explore how navigating a city's lower depths and allowing extortion and other crimes to fester within the police department taint well-meaning men and result in police brutality and torture.

The title refers to the qualities that draw men and women to the force but the movie is full of observations and insights that are, in many ways, richer than its stated themes. Egan's brutality wouldn't be so shocking if Colin Farrell wasn't so persuasive as a man who delights in his own family.

In this film, evil does live with the good - in the police department, and in their families.

Quantum Of Solace - A Personal Review

There was a buzz of anticipation about the new James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, but my own personal opinion is that it was a bit of a disappointment. I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to James Bond and this new film just didn't feel like a typical Bond movie.

It's not helped I don't think by Daniel Craig. He's obviously a very talented actor because I remember him being outstanding in Our Friends In The North, but he just doesn't seem to fit the overall persona of James Bond. I know they have tried to modernise Bond for a younger audience but they've taken away some of Bond's defining traits.

For example the writers decided to do away with the much-quoted catchphrases he uses in every film, and as well as that they've also taken away a lot of the cool gadgets that are a staple of every Bond film. So traditionalists, like myself, will not be too happy about these obvious omissions.

So what about the rest of the film?

Well there's obviously a lot of high-action stunts, car chases, etc, as you would expect from any Bond film, but the plot is fairly weak in my opinion. Part of the problem is that it continues on from where the last film, Casino Royale, left off, which means that anyone wanting to see this film should ideally have watched Casino Royale beforehand. Plus even if you have watched the last instalment it's still quite hard to remember intricate details of the overall plot, which makes it hard to follow at times.

As well as a fairly weak plot, the villain of the movie doesn't really feel very threatening either. In fact I found myself losing interest while watching Quantum of Solace. Maybe I'm just getting old and want more out of a film nowadays than just a lot of high-action stunts and exciting car chases, but the movie just didn't do it for me.

I had heard beforehand that they tried to update Bond a little bit and revert to a closer depiction of the Bond that Ian Fleming had wrote about, but for me it seemed too far removed from the previous Bond movies, and to some extent felt like a completely new franchise.

So overall my own view is that it was quite a big disappointment, but don't let me put you off watching it. I'm sure younger viewers will probably love the film, and despite a lot of negative reviews, I've also seen some glowing reviews as well, so opinion is clearly divided on Quantum of Solace.

Tattoos on Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp got his first tattoo at the age of seventeen. Each tattoo marks a significant thing in his life, a person, an event, or an idea. As Johnny explained, his body tells a story in a way.

As of last count, Johnny has 12 known markings covering his body. He maybe has more but only these twelve are the ones recorded.

Listed below are his tattoos in no special order:

A swallow over a sunset with Jack tattooed underneath. While he was filming one of his most celebrated movies, Pirates of the Caribbean, he had to wear a fake version of these tattoos. He liked it so much that he had them tattooed on his right forearm. Contrary to what people may have assumed, Jack is in honor of his son, and not his character Jack Sparrow. He also had the swallow tattoo inverted so that it is flying towards him. As he mentioned in one of his interviews in 2004, he always wants his son to come back to him.

The inscription Lily Rose. Found over Johnnys heart, the script honors his daughter Lily Rose.

Heart and Betty Sue. Johnny had his mothers name engraved on a heart and tattooed on his left bicep on May 31, 1988 in honor of the first woman in his life.

Wino Forever. Found on his right bicep, it originally read, Winona Forever in honor of his then girlfriend, Winona Ryder. After their breakup, Johnny had it laser-removed.

Native American Head. Just below the Wino Forever tattoo is a Cherokee Indian Chief in full headdress. Johnny had this tattoo to symbolize his ancestral cultural heritage.

The Brave symbol. This tattoo found inside his right arm is from one of his movies, The Brave.

Inverted Triangle. Above his mothers name tattoo is an inverted triangle which also signifies the heart. It is also a universal symbol of the feminine and is often used to express romantic love.

Three Rectangles. Found on his right index finger, Johnny describes them as a permanent phone doodle. In many of his movies, Johnny wears a large ring to cover this tattoo.

Number Three. On Johnnys left hand, between his thumb and index finger, is the number three tattoo. In April 1996, he made a statement about the number three in the Young Flix Magazine. He described the number three as special, creative, mystical, and magical. However, in another interview, he said that he and a friend had that tattoo one day while they were bored.

Crossbones and Skull with the inscription Death is Certain. Johnny claims to be the only one who knows exactly what that saying means.

Question Mark (?). On the right inside leg, over Johnnys ankle is a question mark tattoo.

Silence Exile Cunning. This latest tattoo found on Johnny?s arm is a quote from James Joyces book A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. It was first spotted on June 2, 2008 at the MTV movie awards.

Alice in Wonderland Movie in Production

This remake of a classic will have CGI and live action in the film. Johnny Depp will star as the Mad Hatter and Anne Hathaway will play the White Queen. Helena Bonham Carter I think will do a great job as the Red Queen as she looks and has the temperament to pull it off.

This Tim Burton film will obviously be darker and more twisted than the original Disney version. That is Burton's way with almost all of his films. It may not be as twisted as the video game "Alice" but will still not be as friendly as the the cartoon version. There is definitely room for a lot of creative cinematography with the whole film being a dream sequence. A relative unknown Mia Wasikowska will play Alice, from here pictures she really captures the innocent unaware look that Alice should have. Hopefully Burton will get the most from his Australian actress in her big debut.

Crispin Glover from the "Back to the Future" series as George McFly, is playing the Knave of Hearts. He has always been kinda of creepy and I think Burton will roll with that.

It will be interesting to see what route Depp takes with the Mad Hatter role. Will he go bonkers and act super goofy, or will he play the subtle sly insanity that is more frightening. He just played a insane role as Sweeney Todd and did a fine job at that.

Linda Wolvertoon is adapting the screenplay which is worrisome. The best screenplay she has done so far was Lion King, and not much else. She worked on the "Teen Wolf" and "Ewok" TV series which is not a good sign. Hopefully Tim Burton oversees and makes appropriate adjustments to the script to fit his dark nature, that fans want to see in his films.

The cinematographer Dariusz Wolski worked on Eagle Eye and Sweeney Todd and did a marvelous job on those movies. There is also a giant Art and Visual Effects department working on this film so you know it's going to have great CGI creatures and sets. Michael Lantieri has worked on films such as Lemony Snicket's: Series of Unfortunate Events, The Polar Express and other great films. Paramount should provide a big enough budget for the special effects department to make this the best Alice in Wonderland film. The film is not due out until March 5, 2010. Hopefully they bump up that release date a little sooner.

Scariest Movies to Ever Hit Our Screens

As Halloween approaches and passes we take a look at some of the scariest movies that have hit our screens. There's nothing better than to dim the lights down on a cold winter's night with a hot cup of tea or cocoa and put on a scary movie. Recently horror films have taken a sinister turn and are now much darker than they used to ever be.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Both the original version and the remake of this are awesome movies; it adds more of a scare factor because you know it is in fact based on a true story. From the very moment the film starts you can feel a lot of tension. This has to be one of the all time great horror movies.

The Sixth Sense
The movie did not really promote itself as a horror, but when watching this it does give you that chilling feeling, who would have guessed that Bruce Willis's character was dead after all? I never did.

Nightmare on Elm Street
Probably one of the first scary movies that I actually watched and boy was it scary in it's hey day. I still remember the saying "Remember, No running in the hallway".

Scream
I think the scream movie is what brought a whole new genre to the horror films. The "Who done it" climax was amazing, but has since been used so many times that you really know what to expect, another version was I know what you did last summer which was also great in its day.

The Exorcist
Probably labelled as one of the scariest films of all time, The Exorcist delivers a chilling supernatural horror; decades after its creation people all over the world still flock to see it.

The Omen
Another very scary movie, the remake brought the story to life and it had some very entertaining adrenaline pumping moments, which were full of scares.

Psycho
In all honesty I think the remake was much better than the original version of the film on this occasion. It brought fear into staying in a motel room.

Jeepers Creepers
Well I have mixed reviews about this, some people say that it is awesome but I think that this was way overrated. When I first watched this, the opening scenes were great, you didn't know what to expect. But then this hideous monster appeared and it was kind of funny because people were expecting it to be a real human.

Hostel
A bit more gore than horror, but this film was a big shocker, who would have thought that people all the way from Amsterdam would get brought to a village in the middle of no where. Very scary.

There are many more horror films which have hit our screens which should be worth a quick mention such as The Haunting, Poltergeist, The Shining, Halloween, The Vanishing, Don't Look Now, Chucky, The Ring the Grudge and many many more.

Jolie and Pitt on the Move in Monaco

Celebrities have always proclaimed their love for Europe, and France in particular. Now, Hollywood super-couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are looking to set up a holiday haven on the French Riviera. They were recently spotted strolling the beaches while reportedly shopping for a private villa.

Jolie and Pitt have become more than entertainers. In fact, Time Magazine's recent 100 Most Influential List describes them as heroes and pioneers. On a recent trip to Monaco, they met up with fellow humanitarian The Edge while hunting for a holiday home. While they were looking in Monaco at the time, Jolie and Pitt have often expressed their love for France. Jolie wants to have a permanent French base, so the couple is looking for the perfect place to raise their children.

Their twins were born in mid-July in Nice, in the south of France, just twenty minutes from Monaco. The twins weighed around five pounds each and were delivered by Caesarean section. Pitt stayed by his partner's side while she was in labor and through the entire operation. Mother, father and babies are said to be doing well.

Jolie gave one of the twins the middle name Marcheline, in honor of her French-Canadian mother who died in 2007. Though her mother was often identified as French, Jolie insists that her mother was "as far from French Parisian as you can get." Jolie's second son, Pax, also received his name from a suggestion by Marcheline shortly before her death.

Jolie and Pitt have had both commercial and critical success in their careers. Jolie's early career is marked by technological-thrillers such as Hackers and made-for-cable-movies like Gia, for which she received an Emmy nomination. She won an Oscar for her role in Girl Interrupted, before becoming box-office royalty with her role as Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider films. After a few years in commercially successful, yet artistically unfulfilling films, she returned to form in 2007's A Mighty Heart.

Pitt spent much of his early career in small roles in films like Thelma and Louise and True Romance, until his star-making turn in The Legends of the Fall opposite Anthony Hopkins. He went on to receive accolades for his work in Twelve Monkeys, Seven Years in Tibet, and the Devil's Own. He has chosen his work carefully, but has still had ups and downs in his career. The Ocean's series kept him on top of the box office, while riskier films like The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford brought him great critical reviews, as well.

While Jolie and Pitt look for a place to call home in France, they'll keep busy by shooting films and shooing away the paparazzi. Pictures of the twins fetch a fortune, and they'll want to keep press away while the boy and girl are so young. Wherever they end up living, whether in Monaco or France, they'll be enjoying one of the greatest areas in Europe.

Every move made by Brad and Angelina is highly documented by international press. Their decision to raise their children in France will likely inspire many other parents to consider the advantages offered by European nations like Monaco and France to young families looking for great places to help their children learn and grow into successful adults.

American Beauty - Themes and Analisis

During the latter stages of the film, Lester finally discovers what the true meaning of American Beauty entails. What he learns is both a profound realization and a moment of ultimate truth. However, this newfound knowledge was not a sudden discovery nor was it taught to him. It is the result of his journey; a journey that is intertwined and influenced by the relationships he has with the characters and the world that surrounds him.

The brown leaves of the elm trees that line the street, the pristine white picket fence, the immaculate splendor of the flawless roses in the garden and the resilient hardwood of the red front door. Together, they paint the perfect picture and the ideal life for many Americans to yearn for. The perception is that the Burnham family has everything anyone would want; success, money, status and with this comes the thought of happiness. The reality is a stark contrast however, and beneath this fade the truth paints a darker and more sinister picture.

Nearly every character, (apart from Lester in the final moments of his life) is unable to comprehend the astounding beauty of life that surrounds them. The reason for this is largely due to the way each of them has their own flaws and hang-ups that blinds them from seeing the truth. It is what Lester sees and learns in each of these characters that helps him see clearly the truth in the world and be who he wants to be. This is because eventually Lester realizes he can do all this because, I'm just an ordinary guy with nothing to lose.

Caroline is LesterТs wife. Her pruning shears matches her gardening clogs, she drives a Mercedes, manages her own real estate company and tries in vain to keep the family together. CarolineТs flaws are probably the most self destructive of all the characters in American Beauty. Her continuing desire to be successful and triumphant in every aspect of life only results in the opposite; a destined failure in life. She often sets herself unachievable goals and consequently is angry and damaging to herself when she fails to reach them. Even after the sex with Buddy, the intoxicating and rejuvenating effect it has on her is only a drug educed high. So when she finally has to fall down to earth, the pain is almost too much for her to bear. Although she is superficial in almost everyway she has some worthy points, with the strongest being her desire to create a stable family. But her unorthodox way of doing this, for example her message of encouragement to Jane's cheerleading dance, honey, I watched you the whole time, and you didn't screw up once! Often fail to hit the mark. At the very least all this desire success and stability gives the family some moral strength on which to lean on. It is because of all the superficiality, the lust for success, prestige and martial possessions that Caroline is too blind to see the true beauty of life. Lester describes the family sofa as just a couch but Caroline replies by saying, this is a four thousand dollar sofa, upholstered in Italian silk, this is not just a couch. Lester sees all the consumerism and materialism and is frustrated by it saying to her, this is just stuff, and it's more important to you than living well honey that's just nuts! Lester realizes that material possessions will not gain him freedom and happiness, while Caroline after growing up in a duplex finds solace from the world in her possessions.

Jane is the teenager; depressed, angry and constantly in angst at the world. The lack of confidence in herself, and the fact that she is very self-conscious also affects her ability to see the world clearly. She is also deeply upset inside over the fact that her father shows more interest in Angela and others, rather than her own daughter. So, when someone takes a genuine interest in her for who she is she instantly is drawn to him or her. Her home life and her self-consciousness prevent her from seeing the beauty that surrounds her, even though she often is able see life for what it is. She sees Lester as depressing, pathetic and neglectful towards her. It is not until the end, that Lester realizes how much he has missed out on the relationship with Jane.

Angela represents the total desire and lust for Lester. Her name is a play on words, telling us that Lester sees her as an Angel. After seeing her for the fist time in his life, he is completely intoxicated by her even to the point of (rather pathetically) offering his grown up services to her, do you need and ride, I have a car, I can give you a ride. He wants nothing else but to have this beauty for himself, and goes to much trouble to get it; even pumping weights in the nude. It is not so much what Lester learns from Angela, but more what effect she has on his outlook on life that eventually helps him see this American Beauty.

Terminator Salvation Enters Post-Production

In a recent announcement, director Joseph McGinty Nichol, or "McG" as he is known in the industry, announced that Terminator Salvation was well into post-production. Salvation, formerly referred to as Terminator 4, will be released on May 22nd.

In this press release, director McG emphasized the film's strong points lie with their excellent casting. Indeed, showing off actor Christian Bale's new role in a tantalizing trailer during the launch of the epic blockbuster smash hit "The Dark Knight" was precisely the way to show off such a great choice. Christian Bale can pull off the action scenes believably, yet all the while maintain a sophistication and convey a high level of intelligence to the viewers. Indeed for audiences to believe that the John Connor who was a teenager of relatively limited bravery in the last Terminator film has transformed into a lean, mean fighting machine of his own, will involve a great performance by a great star. For that, Christian Bale leads the industry at the moment. Christian Bale lends authenticity to a film that revels in his area of expertise: these types of dark action films, which indeed the new terminator looks to have a darker feel to it, all but fill up Christian"s repertoire of acting.

For example, the cult hit of Equilibrium (2002), which did not see a theatrical release, surprised producers as Bale"s acting pushed the film to a legendary level of cult status for an action film that perhaps is only surpassed by "The Boondock Saints". Other films such as 3:10 to Yuma, the Prestige, and of course, the Dark Knight, all helped to bolster that image and allow Bale to quite easily set the tone for the new Terminator film. Director McG is also heavily relying on actor Sam Worthington, who until now has not had many major roles, starring with only minor roles in such films as "The Great Raid" and "Hart's War". Yet one should not be too quick to dismiss Sam Worthington, for he was indeed considered in the running to replace Pierce Brosnan as the new Bond, though eventually Sam and fellow contender Henry Cavill (once dubbed the "the most unlucky man in Hollywood") were passed over for Daniel Craig.

In another twist of irony, the original Terminator director, James Cameron picked Sam Worthington for a leading role in the upcoming science fiction Avatar film, which will also be released in 2009. With both Sam and Christian Bale on the path to becoming even larger stars in Hollywood, director McGinty may be right in emphasizing his actor's strengths. However, in his announcement, McG stated the editing team was working on some things never before done, which may or may not be a statement merely to increase hype. However, he stated he was being mute due to a lack of success in achieving it. A strange omission, but nothing that will scare any fan devoted enough to read his announcement away from the promising future blockbuster.

Whatever Happened to Corey Feldman?

For anyone who ever watched a movie from the 1980s, you will have seen the cheeky face of the young, precocious talent of actor Corey Feldman. It didn't matter whether he was in The Goonies, The 'Burbs or Dream a Little Dream, Feldman would light up the screen with his dazzling charisma and terrific acting ability. So, what happened to one of the most promising actors to emerge in the last fifty years?

Corey Feldman was often mislabelled as a teen heart-throb. Despite devastating good-looks, Feldman's talents deserved better than being labelled as just a face in a movie. His delivery of hilarious lines while maintaining the seriousness of a underground pirate's lair in The Goonies helped the movie gross a massive 61,000,000 dollars.

Feldman was always destined to be a star and maintained the integrity of his work throughout his career. In the 1980s when sixteen per cent of American actors were called Corey, not once did he consider changing his name to improve his marketing potential.

After starring in a commercial for a fast-food burger chain, Feldman was hooked on acting. Insisting on paying for his own acting lessons, the three-year-old put in the effort to land his first major film role at the age of eight, outshining Malcolm McDowell in Nicholas Meyer's Time After Time.

The 1980s launched Feldman upon the world, and he took to the role of international superstar like a duck to water. Feldman's duck would not be cooked with orange like the trendy dish of the time - it would fly and sometimes walk briskly into bigger and better movie roles.

Feldman's quirky image enabled him to become instantly recognisable, often wearing thick-rimmed black glasses and talking a lot. His character in The Goonies was called Ralph Mouth, because of his inability to keep quiet. Feldman himself is often quiet and is tired of the constant accusations of loud behaviour.

Corey appeared in The Lost Boys with another Corey. Feldman and Haim were the two coolest Coreys of the time, although Corey Matthews, a fictional character in the US show Boy Meets World, would weakly attempt to steal the Corey crown. Feldman would outlive the others and is still on TV more than thirty years after that ambitious toddler promoted fast food to an obese nation of Americans.

Feldman's career highlight occurred when he was awarded the part of Donatello in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Although Feldman could probably have performed the physical aspects of the role, turtle kung fu and pizza eating, he did only provide the crazy voice.

As the 80s became a distant memory, the number of working Coreys reduced significantly. The actors union introduced a rule to reduce the number to just one by the turn of the millennium. The battle was on, but Corey Haim had almost given up acting and so the cage fight between Feldman and Haim failed to materialise. Feldman won by default and would continue to act.

Since the 90s, Feldman has starred in classic films such as Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV, My Life as a Troll and the blockbuster smash of 2008, Lost Boys: The Tribe. Feldman continues to remain in high demand and performs in films, shows and documentaries as himself or as a character played by himself. Feldman is versatility personified and will endevour to rediscover the glory days of his youth.

Marvel Replaces Terrence Howard with Don Cheadle

Recently Marvel had replaced Terrence Howard's role in Iron Man 2 with Don Cheadle. It sounds surreal merely to mention it, as Iron Man was such a box office hit, and replacing one of the main actors would seem to have the potential to destroy that recipe for success. The chemistry between Robert Downey Jr. and Terrence Howard was magnificent. It was one of the best on-screen adaptations of a comic, and any potential for disruption to the Tony Stark-James Rhodes on screen dynamic, could lead to a major suffering at the box office. Just the negativity of long-time comic fans who are displeased at this move alone could hurt box office in an unjustifiable way.

So what can Marvel be thinking? One scenario comes to mind, and if Marvel is following this game plan then they might be quite smart. If they aren't following it, they may need to rethink their management. This strategy supposes they intended to keep Terrence Howard, but are losing a lot of money. By negotiating with a new actor, showing they can and are willing to replace him, and letting it be leaked (it was reported by the Hollywood Reporter but does not seem to be directly announced) that Don Cheadle would replace him; they have shown Terrence, who seems to have enjoyed the role, that there is a real threat of losing the blockbuster role.

If this was indeed elaborate negotiating tactics, and they manage to re-hire Terrence Howard for the part, then Marvel could expect double publicity helping to promote their film. That is publicity that Cheadle replaced him, and then publicity again if they were to re-hire Terrence Howard, which they certainly could do at a lower negotiated rate, having proven the willingness to remove him from the role. If they re-hire him, all the negative attention now directed at the Iron Man sequel would be lost, and many of the more devoted fans may even heap praise at the decision, thus creating positive publicity.

One can hope this all was a sophisticated negotiating tactic, for if it wasn't, then Marvel is indeed making a big mistake. Don Cheadle simply doesn't even look like a military man, much less can one anticipate the on-screen chemistry between the two to be anywhere near as sensational. Cheadle would look almost out-of-place in the role, much as if Wolverine in X-men were played by Jon Heder of Napoleon Dynamite fame. It simply cannot be imagined, but perhaps as Cheadle is a high-caliber actor who has performed quite well, maybe Marvel is betting Cheadle can pull off a stellar job in a role that already has super-high expectations for it, and if he does play the role, many fans will be quite skeptical going into the theater. Certainly Cheadle will have to overcome quite a barrier in order to win over the fans with the replacement.

History of cinema and where to download movies

Film encompasses individual motion pictures, the field of film as an art form, and the motion picture industry. Films are produced by recording images from the world with cameras, or by creating images using animation techniques or special effects.

Films are cultural artifacts created by specific cultures, which reflect those cultures, and, in turn, affect them. Film is considered to be an important art form, a source of popular entertainment and a powerful method for educating - or indoctrinating - citizens. The visual elements of cinema gives motion pictures a universal power of communication. Some films have become popular worldwide attractions by using dubbing or subtitles that translate the dialogue.

Traditional films are made up of a series of individual images called frames. When these images are shown rapidly in succession, a viewer has the illusion that motion is occurring. The viewer cannot see the flickering between frames due to an effect known as persistence of vision, whereby the eye retains a visual image for a fraction of a second after the source has been removed. Viewers perceive motion due to a psychological effect called beta movement.

The origin of the name "film" comes from the fact that photographic film (also called film stock) had historically been the primary medium for recording and displaying motion pictures. Many other terms exist for an individual motion picture, including picture, picture show, photo-play, flick, and most commonly, movie. Additional terms for the field in general include the big screen, the silver screen, the cinema, and the movies.

W. Movie a Monumental Failure

With a production budget of 25 million, W. the story of George W. Bush has only made 12.8 million so far. This movie was very unsatisfying, It was neither hilarious nor critical enough when it came to George Bush's life. I mean, people where literally falling asleep in the theater.

As it was Oliver Stone who did the JFK movie, I expected it to be a lot more critical of Bush's huge failures in the white house. The story skipped over 9/11 and only briefly touched on the 2000 election in Florida. They basically told us what we already knew about Bush.

They also painted him out to be never good enough for his father. He is always trying to appear better than his older brother Jeb as well. I really don't think anyone feels sorry for him and don't know why Stone is trying to humanize Bush and make him out to be an ignorant southerner. You don't graduate Yale while being stupid and ignorant. They also skipped over the fact that Bush and Kerry where both Skull and Bones members. They only say that Bush was in a regular fraternity at Yale.

I wanted to get my money back after the first ten minutes, but part of me hoped they would delve deeper and make the story more interesting. No such luck. The movie title should have been "Just Claim Ignorance". Because that is what they did when it came to discussing the WMD's and justification for Iraq. They also made it like W. had a personal vendetta against Saddam because of what his father had gone through against him. Well if that was true why didn't they just shoot Saddam instead of giving him a trial.

They portrayed Carl Rove as a nerdy political adviser who could't understand people. Condoleeza Rice was made out to be innocent through ignorance as was Colin Powell who argued against going into Iraq. While Dick Cheney was played by Richard Dreyfus, so he was slightly sinister in parts, but not enough to despise him.

This movie won't catch up to its budget because it is too soft on Bush for democrats and not funny enough for republicans. It is like watching a semi documentary replay of everything Bush did in his administration but no insight into why he really did it. Going into Iraq for oil, that is not the real reason or we would have taken the oil. Control of the region may be realistic, but they didn't delve into that theory enough. It is a sub par flick and you should save your money for any other movie that's out right now.

Transporter Series Getting Even Better

Written by Luc Besson, in my opinion of the better writer/directors. He directed The Professional which is definitely a great film. Jason Statham is back after three years apart from these films to do it again. From the movie trailers, it seems the fight scenes and car chase scenes are even better than the last ones.

It seems they've added a new factor into this series. If Statham's character moves too far away from the car, he will explode. This is definitely raising the stakes and speed of the action scenes, to have more urgency.

Natalya Rudakova plays the package as its called in the series. As Frank Martin (Statham) says in the trailer "it's complicated" referring to the situation with the woman. To which his buddy replies "with you it always is".

Robert Mark Kamen is also helped co write the script. He also wrote screenplays such as Kiss of the Dragon, with Jet Li, which I thought was well done.

Olivier Megaton is the Director. Which is an interesting choice as I've never heard of him and can't find any info on him as to what he has done before this. Hopefully he doesn't mess up the direction of the film. The director is in charge of everyone, so if he does poorly usually so does everyone else.

Robert Knepper of 'Prison Break' fame will also have a starring role as Johnson. Either he or Francois Berleand are playing the criminal mastermind in charge of ensuring Martin completes his mission or dies.

The Audi A8 will be the 'star car' of the film. I say that because the car always gets a ton of on screen time. You think I'm joking, but if you seen any Transporter films you know that it's true. I'm guessing this is either the V8 or W12 sized engine. Since it is fully souped up with all the right gadgets as well.

The Cinematographer is Giovanni Fiore Coltellacci. This is a big step up for him as he has only been Director of Photography on second units before. He worked on Under the Tuscan Sun, but that is a very different style of film from an action film.

I was interested in seeing who the Martial Arts Choreographer is on this film. Sure enough it is Cory Yuen, who was director of the first Transporter. This is an excellent choice as he did a great job overseeing the fights in the film War with Statham and Jet Li.

Movies To Watch This Christmas

The month before Christmas can get pretty hectic, however, take a minute out of your busy life to enjoy a festive movie. There are so many classic films out there for you to enjoy, so open some chocolates early, treat yourself and watch some good Christmas entertainment.

The Santa Clause is the perfect Christmas movie. When a man inadvertently kills Santa Clause, Tim Allen's character Scott Calvin, must step in and take over the role in order to make sure that Christmas can continue. At first he is very cynical about his new role and looks nothing like the famous Father Christmas. However, slowly, he starts growing the beard and the belly and soon enough he looks just like Santa Clause. This is a hilarious transformation, as Tim Allen's face displays his character's disbelief perfectly.

Though the reason Scott Calvin takes over from Santa Clause is a little dark for a movie like this, The Santa Clause does a great job of bringing a lot of humor to the topic of Christmas and everything it entails. The Santa Clause is another one of those Christmas movies that should not be missed. When it isn't funny, it is heartfelt and sincere and truly is one of the better family movies of recent years.

The Nightmare Before Christmas, is Tim Burton's mystical and ghoulish animated horror. It is the perfect antidote to an overload of festive sentimentality. The creepy Christmas tale is usually shown on TV the night before Christmas, to scare children into thinking Santa might be replaced with a scary pumpkin. Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloween Town, is bored with doing the same thing every year for Halloween. One day he stumbles into Christmas Town, and is so taken with the idea of Christmas that he tries to get the resident bats, ghouls, and goblins of Halloween town to help him put on Christmas instead of Halloween -- but alas, they can't get it quite right.

Miracle on 34th Street is a magical tale, which keeps the fun of Santa Claus and Christmas alive. Kris Kringle, the real Santa Claus, is hired to play himself at Macy's Department Store, New York City. He finds himself in a situation where he must convince an unbelieving little girl, and others cynics, that he is the real Santa. A real gem of a film.

The Holiday is a romantic tale and is the perfect feel good film. The story follows two very unhappy women who live in completely different countries. They decide to swap houses after Cameron Diaz's character Amanda Woods sees Kate Winslet who plays Iris Simpkins's cottage on a house swap website. Iris Simpkins ends up in a beautiful LA mansion whereas Amanda Woods, finds herself in a small English cottage in a very rural part of Surrey. The film follows both women who meet and fall in love with very sweet and entertaining guys during their trip. Christmas and New year turn out to be far happier than expected as the couples realise their love for each other.

Love Actually is a wonderful reminder that love is all around, even in a world that can often seem heartless. This is a lovely film for Christmas time, which is notoriously a time to spend with loved ones. The story follows the lives of eight very different couples in dealing with their love lives in various loosely and interrelated tales. The dramas that occur all take place during a frantic month before Christmas in London. The film take you through an array of emotions and captures the complex nature of love perfectly. Am ideal film for all the family this Christmas.

Put the fire on, gather your friends and family together and chose one of your favourite Christmas DVDs to get you in the Christmas spirit. With so many wonderful Christmas movies to chose from you may be stuck for choice, however, why not spare a little extra time to just relax during a usually hectic time and work through your favourite films.

The Vampire Movies With a Lot of Bite

Vampire films are extremely popular with the cinema-going public of the world. Film-fans can't seem to get enough of the fear and fangs that vampire movies inflict upon their audience. Throughout the years since the first vampire film in 1913, various incarnations of the famous blood-sucking creatures have hit the silver screen with relatively erratic success.

The most famous vampire to have been immortalised on the big-screen, in a number of guises and roles, is Dracula. Created by Bram Stoker in 1897, the character of Count Dracula has appeared in numerous films, TV shows and even cartoons in the last 120 years. In 1922, Max Schreck played a renamed Count Orlick, an unauthorised adaptation of the Bram Stoker story.

Shreck's portrayal of Dracula appeared in Nosferatu, a silent movie that would heavily influence the genre and films for years. Shadow of the Vampire, released in 2000, imagined a story where Schreck was a real-life vampire, 78 years after the film's original release.

The most famous, and official, version of Dracula appeared in 1992 when Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola attempted to interpret the novel. With a cast of many big-name stars, expectations were high for the film that would go on to gross over 200 million dollars worldwide. The film proved to be fairly-decent, although Keanu Reeves' wooden performance would also be widely-criticised for his attempts at an English accent.

Vampires and Dracula are popular choices for horror-films as the audience understands their motives, weaknesses and strengths immediately. This understanding enables the film's writers and directors to move the setting from its traditional place to modern-day with little or no problem. Contemporary vampire films have proved to be as popular as the older versions, some proving even more popular.

One of the best films of the vampire genre features Wesley Snipes as a half-vampire, half-human vampire hunter named Blade. The opening scene of Blade is one of the most memorable of the vampire genre, where a man is led to a club by an attractive girl, only to find it full of vampires. A great start to a great film, with Snipes fitting the role perfectly as the dark, stern-faced superhero.

Other modern versions have included the Tarantino-Rodriguez collaboration From Dusk Till Dawn. This film begins as a straight-up gangster road-movie before turning into a vampire-led bloodfest. George Clooney received rave reviews following his switch from the ER and would go on to perform in several more critically and commercially-acclaimed films.

In 1987, The Lost Boys hit the cinema screens across the world and would change the way people looked at vampire movies. Placing the vampires in a quiet, American town made them more real to the audience, and led the way for the vampire movies of the later 80s, 90s, 00s and beyond.

A recent blockbuster vampire film which again evolved the concept was 30 Days of Night. Starring Josh Hartnett, the film centres around an Alaskan town that has no sunlight for a whole 30 days. During this time, vampires arrive to feed off the townsfolk and take advantage of the lack of sun. The vampires are quicker, more brutal and scarier than previous movies, perhaps suggesting a new direction for vampire movies in the future.

Despite the amount of movies made with vampire-themes, the genre continues to evolve and develop with no ideas brought by every writer, director, actor and special effects people. As the vampire movies continue to attract audiences, they will have to adapt to the latest trends in order to remain fresh and modern.

A Look at the New James Bond Movie, Quantum of Solace

Well the time has come again for a new bond film to hit our screens. Daniel Craig takes his role as Mr Bond in the latest movie named Quantum of Solace. After outstanding reviews from the first film Casino Royale, can Daniel Craig meet and exceed the expectations that he is facing?

The preceding film before Daniel Craig got cast as 007 was Pierce Brosnan's Die Another Day, in all honestly Brosnan set the dying franchise back to light and delivered some exceptional movies. But as times progresses so must movies, we have seen a darker side to movies as of late, being hugely successful such as the latest Batman movie The Dark Knight. Therefore I believe that was the foremost reason why we have seen a hugely successful bond in Pierce Brosnan replaced.

Daniel Craig's first outing made us see a new darker and moodier side of the character, which ultimately opened the door to a whole new audience and I can assure you that this new outing delivers much more. The violence in the new flick is pushed up to a new level.

The movie starts itself with an awesome car race which was last probably seen in the Bourne Ultimatum and Italian Job movies. You can really see the efforts not only from the producers for making the film, but also from the actors for putting in some very daring stunts. You will be surprised to hear that at least three of the characters have suffered major injuries; with Daniel Craig himself needing eight stitches to his face and also having his finger sliced.
The movie itself is one of the first James Bond sequels to be made, it continues from Casino Royale where Mr Bond is after revenge for the death of his lover Vesper Lynd. But on his route to seek revenge he uncovers a threat in the form of crime organization Quantum. The death toll in the movie does stack up quite a lot, as in one reference M states, "Bond, if you could avoid killing every lead there is, that would be appreciated.". He then gets his licence revoked for not complying.

All in all the film is a must watch and it will probably end up being one of the best action movies that you have watched in a while. This film strips out all of the gimmicks and gadgets and even pulls out the tagline "The names bond, James Bond", but if you are a 21st century movie fan than this is a heck of a movie that cannot be missed.

The Best Christmas Films Of All Time

On a cold December night when the curtains are drawn and the fire is lit there is no better way to spend it than to watch a Christmas movie. Put on your pajamas, grab your duvet, get out the mince pies and pour yourself a glass of sherry. Perfect. Everybody has their favourite Christmas movies, however, here are a few of mine.

The film a Christmas Carol is perfect for getting you in the Christmas mood and is a lovely heart warming tale. It has been made into a film several times in different styles and is based on the 1843 novel by Charles Dickens. The film follows the plight of the poor and portrays a miraculous transformation of the infamous character Scrooge. Of course there are twists and turns and Scrooge experiences a warning from the ghost of his old work mate Marley who appears to him in chains. He warns Scrooge to change his miser ways to escape imprisonment of the after life. Three spirits also pay Scrooge a visit from the past, present and future. They try to shock him into mending his selfish ways and realise the importance of a friendly and charitable nature.

You simply can not beat The Muppets Christmas Carol. The plot of Dickens's story remains the same, however, the Muppets take over the cast. The familiar characters singing a musical version of the story is highly entertaining and will bring a smile to your face. The film Scrooged is also a modern adaptation of Dickens's novel starring Bill Murray.

Christmas time would not be the same without watching Home Alone. When Macaulay Culkin who plays eight year old Kevin finds himself home alone, a crazy turn of events follows. Kevin gets accidentally left behind when his family go to France for Christmas and spends the festive season fighting off crazy burglars. A highly entertaining, Christmas movie.

The Snowman is a film usually shown on TV every Christmas eve. It is based on a children's book by English author Raymond Briggs, published in 1978. In 1982, this book was turned into a 26-minute animated movie by Dianne Jackson for Channel 4. It was first shown late on Christmas Eve 1982 and was an immediate success. The film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Short in 1983. It has been shown every year since and has become a part of British and international Christmas popular culture.

The book and film have no words, instead telling the story through picture, action and music. The cartoon version was scored by Howard Blake who wrote both music and lyrics of the song "Walking in the Air". The film's one song, "Walking in the Air," was written specially for it and performed by a St Paul's Cathedral choirboy, Peter Auty.

The Snowman is the tale of a boy who builds a snowman one winter's day. That night, at the stroke of twelve, the snowman comes to life. The boy and the snowman become friends and go on many adventures during the night time. The snowman is shown trying to understand the human world and the boy goes to a party where he is the only human being. He even meets Father Christmas and his reindeer. The boy is given a scarf with a snowman pattern.

The story ends when the sun comes out the next morning and the boy wakes up to find the snowman has melted. The viewer begins to wonder if the night's events were all a dream, but the boy discovers that he still has the scarf given to him by Father Christmas. A very magical tale, made even more so by the lack of speech and haunting use of the now famous song "walking in the air", which is now associated with Christmas when played alone without the movie.

If you have a spare couple of hours around the festive season after all the cooking, shopping, wrapping and card writing then a good Christmas film is the perfect way to relax.

How To Avoid The Frustration When Top Movies Don't Deliver

Often these days, newly released films in movie theatres are touted to be the next top box office hits, yet fall short of the hype that accompanies the impending release. While this is disappointing to all movie lovers, it can be particularly frustrating for people who buy the DVDs of these movies without having seen them in the theater first.

The biggest problem arises when upcoming movies are touted as being the next top box office hits and then simply do not live up to the promotions and publicity. Many people purchase these top movies from a list of hits without having seen them in the theater first. When they do this they often feel the money they spent on the DVD was a complete waste, as well as a waste of their time, spent watching a poor quality movie.

It seems that more and more often, the movies that become box office hits often get to that position more because of the movie trailers and the media hype that surrounds the movie than it does because it was an excellent production. Even worse, often these movies end up being nothing like what was portrayed in the trailers, as often only the best parts are shown, leaving little else that is worth watching.

One of the best ways to sidestep this frustration is to go high-tech for a solution and sift through all of the supposedly top-rated, box office shows. More and more people are finding the best value in entertainment to be the new movie download sites that allow their members to download unlimited movies and watch them either on their computer or on their television.

This way, people can eliminate the need to deal with the crowds at the movie theaters and also skip the expense and hassle of renting DVDs. Instead, they are able to simply download the top new movies and not really worry about whether or not the movie lives up to all of the hype and promotion. If they like it, they can either save it on their computer for later viewing, or they can buy the DVD if they really liked it.

There are more and more of these movie download sites becoming available all the time. Most of them offer a flat fee membership that allows you to download an unlimited number of top movies during the month. Many people buy additional hard drives to store the movies that they love, and they are able to simply delete the ones that did not live up to their expectations.

Do You Know The Difference Between Cable and Satellite?

High definition television is the newest revolution in the technology for watching television. However, understanding the difference between the current system and high definition television is important. The difference is the resolution; the quality of high definition television is 5 times better than the usual DVD. The minimum resolution for HDTV is 720p but better should be 1080p. Furthermore, the HDTV requires a Blue Ray Disk player and Blue Ray Movies to take full advantage of the better picture quality. Older movies can't give you this quality because of the cameras that were used at that time they made the movie were not HD and it is not just because of the type of television that gives the resolution of HDTV.

High-definition television is fantastic if the system to support it is present. There are actually three different options to choose from when deciding between cable or a satellite system. They are obviously cable, satellite, and the old fashioned TV antenna.

Cable depends on whatever local cable company provides in the way of high-definition channels. Some cable companies only offer a handful of channels that are available in high-definition and there is an extra charge for this service. On the other hand, one big advantage for cable is that there usually isn't an extra charge for the local channels and most of them are now available in HD.

With satellite systems a huge factor to be considered is the cost of the equipment that is needed. Like a HD receiver is needed to be able to view HD channels. Also, with satellite there is an extra charge for local channels.

Lastly, the older TV antennas more or less snatch the signal out of the air. Consequently, when an HD receiver is hooked up to a regular television it will pick up local channels in HD. This saves a great deal of money and with new services like Blockbuster All Access or The Movie Download downloading or renting movies is a nice alternative

In a nutshell, High-definition is the future of television and the benefits of cable is there is no more equipment to buy and the local channels are included. The benefits of satellite are that there are many more channels, but there is an extra fee for the local channels. The benefits of the TV antenna are that it is inexpensive and the local channels can be watched in HD.

Body of Lies is Captivating and Intense

Ridley Scott is back at it again after his last success with American Gangster. Ridley Scott has been my favorite director/producer for some time now. He hasn't let me down so far.

As my expectations were very high, I was not disappointed. The screenplay hooks you in from the beginning. The action is fierce and fast paced as you travel along on a ground operation by the C.I.A. DiCaprio plays the ground agent while Russell Crowe plays the very distant office agent who makes the calls. The both have authority in their own right, but Russell is higher ranking and uses his position to get what he wants. There is even some comedy while Crowe tries to balance his career with kids and a wife. Not very practical as one would already guess.

The setting takes place all over the middle east and you really get a feel for the culture and tense atmosphere. The film does a great job not preaching on whether Americans should be there or not. It just calls it like it sees it. DiCaprio's character does a good job getting the point across to why it so hard for a distant figure to understand the ground situation. He puts his life on the line while Crowe is thousands of miles away.

Who can you trust when your a white American in a middle eastern setting? This film depicts how you have to blend in as an agent and never let your guard down for a second. DiCaprio has to grow out his beard and look a lot scruffier to not stick out like a sore thumb. His Arabic is actually very convincing unlike his Australian accent in Blood Diamond.

The interaction between Crowe and DiCaprio is as good as actor chemistry gets. They play off each other like Riggs and Murtah (Lethal Weapon) but with more hate. There is a hate there, but because of the dialogue it is almost a banter or playful kind of speech. The way some coworkers have, but life is on the line. So a bit more intense.

This is definitely a movie you must see in the theaters. There is plenty of awesome special effects and big time action sequences. You will want the surround sound, silver screen, and some popcorn or candy. The story, dialogue, acting, directing are all near perfect. The only flaw I can find is you want the movie to last a little longer.

Quantum of Solace Part of the James Bond Franchise is Roughed up Again Daniel Craig Style

When Daniel Craig took over the role of 007 the world of Bond became significantly less shiny. His coarse portrayal of the queens greatest spy in Casino Royal (2006) was rougher around the edges than for example Pierce Brosnans previous attempts, a fine character change generally welcomed by the critics and the cinemagoers. But does the new Bond movie also promise gritty with just a side serving of glamour? Well, judging by the trailer and the gossip from the set it certainly does.

Quantum of Solace filming was apparently quite the harsh affair according to reports by the Daily Mail. Craig injured his arm so badly he had to wear it in a sling and another time bled so much from his hand he had to go to hospital, a stuntman also crashed an Alfa Romeo and a mechanic drove another car into a lake. All action on the set hopefully means all action on the screen.

Quantum of Solace begins only an hour after where Casino Royal left off, when Bond sets out to seek revenge for the death of Vespa Lynd. His job at the MI6 however soon takes him on a chase of an environmentalist that plans to take hold of Bolivias water supply. These two stories soon intertwine in the film, which was shot on location in Panama, Chile, Italy and Austria, and in Pinewood studios. The title is taken from an unrelated line in Ian Flemmings For Your Eyes Only.

The Quantum of Solace trailer sees the well-built actor topless and dirty more times than in the traditional suave Bond tux, and there is definitely more rocks, dust and building sites than there is gold, gadgets and Monaco. It all points to some grimy action fun in the cinemas when the film premiers at the end of this month.

It is nevertheless a risky game played by Craig and director Marc Foster, to change some of cornerstones of what makes Bond, well, Bond. Gone are the gadgets and tech wizardry of previous eras and the action carries more dramatic realism and gritty bone popping, stomach churning violence. Daniel Craig portrays a hard, unsympathetic and often cruel James Bond that would think nothing of gouging someone's eye out to get the information he needs.

If the director and writer were one-time lucky or smart twice with the unpolished 007 remains to be seen on the 31st of October when the Quantum of Solace is released in UK cinemas.

Righteous Kill No Big Thrill

This film has a great cast of Deniro, Pacino, Donnie Walhberg, among others. Deniro plays Turk a cop who is a hothead but follows the law and keeps protecting the people. Pacino plays his sarcastic chess playing partner, who is loyal like a brother.

In the start of the film they have to 'bend' the rules to put away a child killer. They both have no qualms about it and follow through and let it be. Then later there are bunch of serial killings of basically guys that pimp, deal dope or any other vile act. Pacino and Deniro see these acts as good for society but their chief wants them to solve them regardless of the fact it keeps streets clean. The killer also leaves poems at each crime scene relating to what the people did to deserve this.

The premise is okay but comes out a little weak with the slow pacing. Deniro and Pacino have good chemistry as always, but that doesn't really redeem the film for me. I expected it to be a faced past murder mystery thriller. Not a take your time roll it over 'Law and Order' style film. I think the producers thought if they had this acting duo they wouldn't need to perfect the screenplay. They didn't use alot of special effects or crazy car chase scenes.

Carla Gugino is Deniro's lover, a little disturbing for the twenty something audiences. It's not the most romantic relationship's; she seems to be using him just cause he wears a badge.

There is a dynamic turn in the story when Walhberg and Leguizamo are introduced as two rival cops. They have it out for Deniro and make his life a living hell. It seems you don't know who to trust in the story and anyone could be the suspect.

The misdirections are okay but not enough to throw most people off the scent of who it really is. If you pick up on little clues you will figure it out about halfway through. I think if you wait for it to come out on DVD you should be fine. It's worth a rental but not quite worth a movie ticket purchase for two or more. It's not a film where you walk out or feel horrible seeing. My thought was okay that wasn't very complicated or intense. Would I see it again? Probably not, once is enough. There is plenty of other great vigilante films.

George Clooney, Brad Pitt, John Malkovich In The Ultimate Spy Vs Moron Movie, Burn After Reading

Burn After Reading is wildly funny, but it's also very sly and subversive as a piece of filmmaking, and is a spoof of the American way of stupidity, narcissism and paranoia, a shaggy-dog tale set in the spy-vs-moron style. It stars George Glooney, Brad Pitt, John Malkovich, and Francis McDormand.

Clooney has never played it goofier than he does here as Harry, who has been virtually castrated by his successful career woman wife (Elizabeth Marvel), who is always traveling overseas to promote her children's books. All the while, Clooney's character isn t sure what foods he s allergic to and keeps teetering noisily on the verge of anaphylactic shock with phlem. However, this does not stop Clooney from screwing Malkovich s wife, and for that matter any other woman he can lure into his sex dungeon whenever his own wife is out of town.

Brad Pitt plays Chad Feldheimer, a clueless gym employee with a bizarre streaked hairdo and a toned body continuously in motion. Brad Pitt adds another fantastically quirky character to his resume as a meathead personal trainer and the rest of the cast is wonderful as well. John Malkovich is hilarious and Tilda Swinton plays Malkovich's wife with heartless acidity that is as funny as it is cruel.

Malkovich is a CIA agent about to be demoted to another branch of the government, with lower security clearance, because of his alcoholism. When his memoirs accidentally falls into the hands of two unwise Washington, D.C. morons when a CD copy of the rough draft ends up on the locker room floor of the Hardbodies fitness center, employees

Frances McDormand basically reprises her role from "Fargo" as a clueless yet determined woman, but the role is not tired.

Interestingly and perhaps ironically, in Burn After Reading the civilians engage in subterfuge with more passion, but no more success, than the so-called professionals. But if you didn't mind the hit or miss mania of The Hudsucker Proxy, or just find everything these actors do to be fascinating, you'll easily enjoy Burn After Reading.

Burn After Reading is that rare satirical thriller--a devilish, delicious, diabolically dark, irreverent and insanely funny movie that could only have come from the minds of Joel and Ethan Coen.

However, along with the popularity of the movie came a renewed interest in memorabilia and autographs as collectibles and gifts. So much so that many stores have sold out of the increasingly harder to find items. Not that this is the first time a movie has spawned greater interest in memorabilia and autographs. Movies like The Lord Of The Rings and Pirates Of The Caribbean were great hits at the boxoffice as well as the memorabilia shops. However, the recently released Burn After Reading as well as Get Smart and Sex In The City were not in the same league or category as Lord of the Rings or Pirates but have still created a renewed excitement in memorabilia for collectors and as gifts.

One collector who is well-known in memorabilia collector circles is John White. Who has a very fine collection of movie memorabilia that is not the largest but certainly one of the most interesting since every piece is carefully selected to fit into the collection. His collection is made up of small groups of items. Each group will have a piece of memorabilia from a movie like the new Speed Racer and includes an autograph from numerous actors from the show in a small framed display. In working the collection in this manner he has kept the cost down while quickly building it into a true pleasurable treasure. His most recent focus is on obtaining pieces from both Burn After Reading and Righteous Kill and he is moving quickly to obtain them before the best pieces are bought out.

While there is a not really a bad time to start collecting or giving collectibles as gifts, this time of lowered prices and increase interest makes it a perfect time.

Burn After Reading is that rare satirical thriller--a devilish, delicious, diabolically dark, irreverent and insanely funny movie that could only have come from the minds of Joel and Ethan Coen. Whom audiences can rely on for snappy acting, hilarious dialogue and off-putting amounts of bloodshed, but no one anticipated the increase in interest in memorabilia and autographs the movie generated.

The transferring process is a smart and practical choice to make. I think by now we all know how much DVDs are superior to video tapes and film which can deteriorate with time. DVDs are much more reliable not to mention easier to store.

Another amazing attribute to this sort of technology is that you can actually add your favorite music to play along with the movie. For example, if the film was made back in the Otis Redding days you can have his music playing in the background or any other music you like for that matter. These businesses also allow you to make requests for special effects that match the mood on the film.

Starting right now, go through all your old film and videos tapes and make notes on which ones you want to begin transferring first! Maybe you have a birthday or anniversary coming up and you want to give the guest of honor one of these DVDs, this would make a terrific gift that will last for many many years!

More often than not the places that offer these types of services in your area are more readily available online. Even if you take it to a local business, there's a big possibility that the "job" is sent out to the same business you will find online. Just be extra careful in making sure you choose a well-known company with good reviews which uses high quality transfer units.

Upon visiting some of these sites online you will also find an array of prices, you do not need to spend a large amount of money to get great quality, just do a little research and you will ultimately find a business that fits your budget plus your expectations. There are some companies out there that will make your film look better than you ever imagined. So don't risk losing your precious moments when you can simply get them restored and transferred, if you use these services you will not regret it especially years from now when you pull out your DVDs to share with your future generation and they can enjoy a few laughs.

Sullivan's Travels and Veronica Lake and the Famous Peekaboo Coif

Veronica Lake is known for her peekaboo coif and mysterious allure in black and white film, but in the 1941 comedy Sullian's Travels, Lake shows that not only is she beautiful and worthy of vintage pin up posters fame, but can be satirical as well. Even the title, Sullivan's Travels, is a satire, playing on the title of the satirical self-examination journey Gulliver's Travels, by Jonathan Swift. Of course, in her first leading lady role in a film, Lake becomes the personification of the vintage pin up posters image that she would eventually become famous for.

The satire focuses on John L. Sullivan, a director struggling to find his way in Hollywood and make a socially conscious and revelant film for the masses, but eventually discovers that making a comedy would be more valuable to the decaying soceity surrounding him. He is just coming off the very profitable, but morally reprehensible comedies, and is hungry for a moral compass to direct. He creates the idea for a movie entitled O Brother, Where Art Thou? (The 2000 Cohen Brothers hit of the same name is a homage to the satirical movie Sullivan's Travel), as an exploration of the downtrodden. However, Sullivan's ideas are dismissed by his studio, and he refuses to give in to do yet another droll comedy.

Dressing like a homeless person, Sullivan sets out to discover just how the hobos live, to gain information and research for his latest film project. Yet, through a serious of misseps, Sullivan can never find the trouble and distuition he is aiming for, and ends right back in Hollywood. In one event, he meets a young actress, played by vintage pin up posters Girl Lake, and she becomes his companion in his misadventuress into downtroddenness.

Yet, Sullivan still hasn't experience trouble. Eventually he gives in and returns to Hollywood, where his studio publicly announces his travels. Good hearted Sullivan returns to the homeless area that welcomed him weeks before, and hands out 5 dollar bills to the men, as a thank you, only to finally receive the trouble he had been longing for. A bum decides to accoste Sullivan when they are alone and steal the money. However, the bum throws Sullivan on a boxcar, while standing on another set of train tracks. The bum is killed by an oncoming car, wearing the very shoes he had stolen off Sullivan. When Sullivan wakes up, he discovers that he has been murdered in the railway station. The only person who can correctly identify him is the Girl who joined him on his travels.

Sullivan's Travels explores the notino that more good can come from laughter than drama. Though a comedy, Veronica Lake's performance of The Girl garnered her higher status as a vintage pin up posters girl, with her long blonde hair, which coyly hung over her right eye. She showed that a lady can be funny, while being mysterious and sexy.

By 1990, Sullivan's Travel was finally received by the National Film Registry in the Library of Congress as a film for preservation, because of it cultural significance, a slice of irony since the film is about the struggle to find cultural significance in film.
