Shia LeBeouf Thrills Fans In Eagle Eye

Eagle Eye is a conventional thriller that is tense, edgy and held together by a strong cast, this has all the hallmarks of solid entertainment. But most importantly it is a well-conceived twist film that changes what it is in every single act of the film. This movie will throw viewers for a loop if they manage to see it spoiler free. As it hinges upon an incredible concept that rapidly unfolds and challenges what you've seen every chance it gets.

A guy and a girl both receive phone calls blackmailing them into acting for a mysterious voice forcing them into situations that is completely out of character for them. They follow the directions they are given but all the while they are trying to figure out who is blackmailing them and why.

While there are plenty of white knuckle action sequences - gun fights, car chases and explosions by the fistful - the film is about the abuse of government powers and that challenges its viewers to decide whose side their supposed to be on. And even when the film is wrapped up you are still completely uncertain as to who should have won.

It is a film that wants the viewers to question the motives and ultimately decide for themselves what the true nature of patriotism is and to encourage a discussion of what is wrong with the country.

Shia LaBeouf is excellent in the film, turning in an award winning performance and easily carries the movie. Which, when combined with the superb performances by Michelle Monaghan and Billy Bob Thornton, to make the movie a must see and causing the autograph and memorabilia shops to run out of their LaBeouf and Thornton stock. As they seem to be the hot new autographs for collectors and fans alike.

One storeowner, Richard Stark of Stark Memorabilia has reported paying two to three times the price he paid just a few months ago for Shia LaBeouf and Billy Bob Thornton autographs and memorabilia.

Eagle Eye is a very good thriller with a message that is clearly warning of dangers of technology and over-empowered governments.

Why Scary Films Have To Be Scary

When you watch a scary film, there will be many different parts that will determine its success. The first obvious key point is that a scary film must be scary. This may sound ridiculously simple, but attempting to cash in on the success of Japanese horror films, the American remakes lack any of the tension, drama or fear of the originals.

To make a scary film is a very difficult task. The music must be good, acting is important (to an extent), and the setting is probably one of the key components to a really scary film. The scariest films base fear on tension and unease, rather than obvious and gratuitous violence and horror.

To succeed as a scary film, the viewer must be drawn into the film's world and feel a certain level of worry as they watch. This concept was explored brilliantly by The Blair Witch Project (1999). The film uses viewer interpretation to increase suspense during several important parts of the plot, including the finale.

The film is shot using a handheld camera, mixing colour with black and white, making the film seem more realistic and documentary-like. The characters seem like genuine people, with the low-budget also helping the film to be as unsettling as possible. Viewers will find themselves sympathetic to the plight of the film's characters, and feeling the fear and horror as the story unfolds.

Possibly the most important scary film of all time was released in 1973 when William Friedkin directed The Exorcist. Based on the novel by William Peter Blatty, The Exorcist would go on gross over four hundred million dollars amidst a blaze of publicity and controversy.

The film arrived with stories of on-set incidents and the movie being cursed, further fueling the controversy. With several injuries suffered to actors and film-staff, the film also suffered at the hands of the British censors when it was withdrawn from video release in the 1980s.

The Exorcist is an extreme film with every part of it testing the audience's resolve. The plot is unforgiving, as is the language and the music, forcing a reaction that can range from disgust to panic. A resounding success as a horror film and one of the scariest movies ever made.

Isolation and hopelessness can make a film as scary as the obvious fear attached to more conventional horror films. Where some people find slasher films scary, the atmosphere and tension associated with slower-paced psychological films can be far more devastating to watch.

The most impressive psychological chiller to grace the silver screen is the Stanley Kubrick directed The Shining. Based, very loosely, on the novel by Stephen King, The Shining avoids becoming sloppy, cheesy nonsense - a fate that many King adaptations seem destined to achieve.

A father, mother and son spend the winter in a secluded snowbound hotel so that the father can concentrate on writing a novel. The haunting music and beautiful scenery contrast dramatically, as does the performance of Jack Nicholson as the disturbed and manic father with the solitude and calm of the location.

Kubrick works masterfully with the movie, even more-so if you watch the King-endorsed 1997 TV movie. King didn't enjoy the 1980 classic, probably a good thing as most horror fans will appreciate his work as a writer but note his ventures into movies are generally weak and diluted.

There are many films that can be considered as scary, including the classic movies The Silence of the Lambs, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Psycho. These all deserve a mention, as do slasher movies such as Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday 13th. With such a selection of fantastic films to choose from, it's hard to narrow the most influential down to just a few.

Keep Your Memories Safe With This Incredible Service!

If you are anything like me and my family, your memories are very precious, and you would like to keep them as safe as you possibly can. Chances are if you own film reels, VHS tapes, or tapes, you know that these items can become less and less reliable over time! They deteriorate, you can easily lose them, and you can even throw them out accidentally (which has personally happened to me). So how would you like to keep your memories safe and continue to keep them safe for years and years to come?

Well now you can! There are business online that specialize in transferring your old movies over to DVDs and as we all know DVDs are very reliable! The actual process doesn't damage your film, or tapes in any way shape or form. Of course it depend on which site you use, but I found a few online recently that had superb quality and customer service. Some of these sites will even let you "sample" their service? Yep it's true! They will actually allow you to transfer X amount of feet to DVD for absolutely free, just so you can personally see how dedicated and experienced they really are!

Some of these businesses take the time to process, inspect, repair, clean and lubricate every foot of film by hand! You would be stunned by the quality of some of the older vintage 8mm/16mm or Super8mm films that we have restored. The quality is unbelievable, and really, isn't that the most important thing? A little side tip; do yourself a HUGE favor and try this site out; Transfer Your Movies. This is the one I tried and I have been nothing but happy with their service and quality of service! This site not only has awesome service but the prices are fair and the turn around time is quick! They charge 10cents per X amount of feet for film to DVD transfer, and 15cents per foot for complete digital restoration! This site is definitely worth it! If you want to you can also find review on sites such as Google by searching for the "category" or business name and see what other people say about it as well!

I have personally tried services such as these, and I know of a few people in my family that have had it done, and really its worth the few bucks it costs to transfer over. I can't even begin to explain how much happier I am with these DVDs than I was with those old film reels! This is just one of those things you have to try to believe it! Take it from me, you really won't be disappointed!

Do Your DVD Rental On Line And Never Pay Late Fees Again

I think most people probably know about the DVD rental on line companies nowadays, but for some reason, not everyone is using their services. The service really is a no-brainer, you order your movies on-line, and in a day or so they are delivered to your mailbox ready to watch.

When you first start to use the DVD rental on line services, you will find that the systems work very effectively. All you have to do is choose the movies that you want to view, receive them in the mail, and watch them at your leisure. There are never any late fees to pay, should you forget to return them, as you can keep the movies for as long as you want. If you have ever forgotten to return a movie to your local store, you will no that this feature alone can mean that the service almost pays for itself.

What I like best about DVD movie rental on line is the single monthly fee you pay, and with most companies if you pay their highest fee, which is about $20 a month, you can rent as many DVDs as you want throughout the month; send the first bunch back and they will send you more DVDs straight away. Once you get used to the system you just rinse and repeat until you have watched every movie your rental company has, but with over 100,000 DVDs at Netflix alone, that could take you some time!

I personally have paid more than $20 in late fees on one set of DVD rentals before, so if you are like me, it is well worth the investment.

The 2 big players in the DVD rental on line industry are Blockbusters and Netflix. Both follow similar business models, and both companies have good and bad points in their favour. I think Netflix edges it slightly because the number of titles they have for you to choose from is just huge, although Blockbusters allow you to drop movies back at your local store and I like that feature too.

DVD rental on line is definitely the way the industry will grow in the future, the centralized nature of operating the business in this way allows the companies to make huge savings, and in a competitive market those savings in part will get passed on to us the consumer.

In summary then, DVD rental on line will work out less expensive than renting 5 or 6 movies per month from your local store, you will never have to pay any late fees because you can keep the movies for as long as you want. On the downside you are committing to pay a set amount each month, but you are not tied in for a long period, you can cancel any time you choose. Like I said before, to me it is a no-brainer.

The Truth About The On Line DVD Rental Industry

The on line DVD rental industry has become a phenomenon in the 10 years or so since the first sites started to appear on our computer screens. Since its first introduction, the combination of reasonable pricing, ease of ordering and convenience has led to a spectacular growth in this sector of the DVD rentals market.

The convenience of ordering movies from the comfort of our own home was an instant success, and with the advent of user friendly ordering systems, highly competitive pricing and no late fees ever, it comes as no surprise that on line DVD rentals have become the most important part of the business.

The procedure for ordering DVD movies is simpler than it has ever been. The customer has only to create an account at the rental company's website, choose their movies from upwards of 100,000 titles that are available, and simply wait for their movies to be delivered to their mailbox; the whole process can be completed within a day or so.

The on line DVD rental market in the United States is dominated by 2 big players; Netflix and Blockbusters. Netflix were the pioneers of the industry, launching their service in 1999, but were followed some time later by Blockbusters.

Netflix recognized that the power of the Internet combined with a strong postal service in the US could provide huge savings over the traditional local video store format, and they were right. They were able to offer DVDs at very competitive prices, very efficiently, and were able to totally eliminate late charges, charges that had been ticking off customers for many years. Netflix provided the business model that is followed pretty closely by all the main players in the industry today.

Outside of the US, Lovefilm claims to control approximately a quarter of the worlds on line DVD rental market. A UK based company; Lovefilm distributes over 2 million DVDs every month.

While the on line DVD rental market has experience explosive growth since its inception, it is still believed by many to have several more years of sustained growth ahead of it. One downside to this growth is the inevitable decrease in the number of local movie rental shops on our high streets that we will see over the coming years, and while that may not be too much of a hindrance to the majority, there will always be a section of the community who are excluded from access to the internet and who may have to give up renting DVDs as a result.

Video Sharing Makes Millions of Dollars!

Three young friends who were employees from PayPal thought there was a need to have a website where people could upload and listen to videos. They founded YouTube.com on April 23rd, 2005. This billion dollar company is just over three years old, but is making billions of dollars.

First, let's talk a little about Chad, which I believe may now be the CEO for the company, of one of the three inventors Chad, Steve and Karim. Chad was always interested in technology. When he was in the ninth grade, he built an amplifier for an electronic competition that won third place. He was also pretty keen on the business side. One summer when he was in college, he sold knife sets. Chad ended up finishing computer science, printmaking and graphic design. He began his employment with the then new company PayPal when as part of the qualifications, he had to design a new logo for the company.

Steve was always kind of a risk taker. He left university early to work for PayPal. With attending a well-respected university program and mathematics and science academy, he was also very smart and hard-working.

Karim was pursuing a masters in computer science when he would throw ideas around with the other two PayPal employees. There was quite a bit of tension around the fact that Chad and Steve seemed to have more credit around the invention of the YouTube, although Karim is also listed on the site of being a co-founder.

Chad and Steve say that they got the idea when they were at a dinner party at Steve's apartment in San Francisco, and had problems loading a video of the party to share with friends. Karim shared his feelings that the dinner party never happened and that the idea of sharing videos, was actually his idea.

Let's face it. All three came up with this fantastic idea to provide a service that would make uploading videos to share and listen hassle-free. I would certainly say that these three young men have quite a future ahead of them.

Choosing An On-Line DVD Rental Delivery Service

If you are on the verge of deciding to sign with an on-line DVD rental delivery service, there are a few things you might want to consider before you part with your money:

1. How many titles does the DVD rental service you are looking at have in stock? The largest DVD rental delivery service, Netflix, has over 100,000 titles for you to choose from, which should keep you busy for a little while! The benefit to choosing a service with a large number of titles is twofold; first you will have lots of choice, and second means you won't have to wait for the most popular movies.

2. Does the service offer a free trial period so that you can check their service for speedy turnaround times? If they do, what are the DVDs like that they send you, are they scratched, full of sticky finger prints and are the order and returns instructions easy to follow.

3. How long is the turn around time from ordering to receiving your DVDs? If you plan to watch movies on a specific evening but the turn around time is slow, you might end up not be able to hold the movie nights that you had planned. The trial period is a great time to test this, as you can cancel before you have to pay anything.

4. What sort of website does your service provider have? Is it easy to find the DVDs that you want and are they available when you want them, if not try another service.

5. How many DVD titles you can order at one time will depend on the subscription rate you decide to sign up for. You will need to think about how many movies you would watch in an average week maybe and sign up at the most appropriate level. Obviously the quicker the DVD rental delivery service gets your movies to you, the less you will need to order in one go. This is a balance that you will get right as you get used to using the system.

6. What is their customer service like? Do they offer any guarantees about the quality of their service, and have you searched Google to see if there are any horror stories about the service you are considering?

Once you have found a service that meets all your requirements, you will find on-line DVD rentals offer exceptional value for money compared to your local video store. Sign up for the least expensive service at first, as you can always increase you subscription if you find that you need more movies.
